The Selflessness Project

Earlier this week I came across this story
and decided to make a card to send out to Matthew for his project.
Here is the card I made at MHP on Saturday.

I used some distress inks for the background and alcohol inks to color the
"Flying Girl Holder" (#21701)
"Oval Balloon" (#5201)
and "Heart Balloon" (#5204)
which are all images from Eureka! Stamps
The grass is stamped with
"Field Grass Right" (#38925)
from Biblical Impressions.
The girl and balloons were fussy cut and adhered to the card with foam tape.
I hope you'll read the story about this little boy and maybe make a card or two to send off to him for his project.
On their facebook page his Mom says they have already surpassed his goal and it is bigger than they ever imagined and I'm sure it's going to keep on growing!

Upcycling on card.

Hello My Happy Place friends!
Here's a simple card that you can make from your "trash"
Yes!  That's right, I said trash!
The last time I was at MHP I wanted to make a card with this design, but I was having trouble finding some paper scraps that matched.
If you have ever come to MHP you probably know Marie, well she saw I was having problems and tossed a paper at me and said "try this"
What I ended up doing was punching these squares out of the front cover paper from a pack of paper.  You know the one, it shows strips of the papers that are in the pack.
Thus I used trash to make this card!

I arranged the squares and adhered them to a piece of scrap from my stash then ran it through the Cuttlebug in an embossing folder.

I used "Just a Note" (#6405)
from Eureka! Stamps for the sentiment at the bottom and added some pink and blue embroidery floss.
Easy peasy!
Next time your are going to throw away your "trash" think again and see if you can make something with it.
Check here to see another way that I used "trash" on a card.

Thanks for stopping by today, leave a comment and let me know if you have ever used "trash" on a project.
Hope to see you soon at My Happy Place!

Video from Stamp TV

Hello MHP fans!
Today I'm sharing a video with you.  I love Gina K's videos on Stamp TV, she always has wonderful designs and some great tips.
This video shows a great tip for lining up panels on the front of your card.
It also shows how to use the Bow Easy.

Some of you have seen my home made version of this tool that I have at MHP.  Here's a chance to see how it is used.  Now if you ever want to borrow mine home made one at MHP, just ask.
To be honest, it may take me a minute or two to remember how to make a bow with it as I don't use it all that often, but we'll figure it out.
This is the card she does in the video.
I'd love to see your version of it.
Happy Stamping!

Chubby Chums

Hello!
To see the whole write up of the story behind these cards, visit my personal blog, Kristie Kreates.
Now I just want to show you these little guys and ask what you think.
A couple of the gals at MHP would like me to do a class to make these cards.  What do y'all think?  Would you come to a class to make these cards?
Leave a comment and let me know if you would like this class offered at My Happy Place.
